CUSTOMER TESTIMONIALS & REPORTSSimply Groups very rarely advertise and we have no grand plans to grow to the point where clients become reference numbers and can never speak to someone who can make a decision. Our clients welcome the personal service that we are able to provide and they benefit from the 25 years experience and knowledge that we have. This enables us to discuss options that are available so that an itinerary can be provided that meets with the satisfaction of each member of the group. EILEEN FUNNELL IN POLAND - MAY 2009 "Well - that was a brilliant trip to Krakow; I can honestly say that everybody thoroughly enjoyed it. Andels Hotel was great - spotlessly clean, lovely rooms, super bathrooms, very nice staff, great position, and everything for the buffet breakfast - I loved t he smoked salmon and scrambled eggs! There was something for everybody. It was such a great position too.
You must always try to get Dennis McEvoy, our guide, for your groups - he was American, extremely knowledgable, very nice chap, spoke fluent Polish. Lots of happy customers! THank you all very much. And everyone was pleasantly surprised with Poland, how lovely it was.
DEREK & SYLVIA - ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASS OCIATION QEII CRUISE OCTOBER 2008 "Morning Joanne This is just to say thanks to all at Simply groups for all that you did to make our trip Perfect even down to the weather, WELL perhaps you didn't have anything to do with that! But you did do a brilliant job on the rest My group loved MILESTONES, the living History Museum. And the Meal at THE OLD CUSTOMS HOUSE Portsmouth went down a treat. But the trip on the Solent to go down with the QE 11 We My group were waving and cheering Like kids and the did not stop talking about it until they got home. I can say that as an G.T.O you will get more work from me you made my job easy." Derek and Sylvia were just one of three groups who travelled with us to see the QEII and Queen Mary sail for the last time from Southampton. They took to the Solent to cruise alongside the ship as she departed and there was much cheering and flag waving and a few tears too. The itinerary was complimented by a wide variety of interesting visits as well as lunches and dinners for those staying overnight. This was a unique short break enjoyed by all the groups who travelled.
RENEE'S TOUR TO GLORIOUS YORKSHIRE AUGUST 2008Renee has been one of Simply Groups greatest supporters and Shauna took the time to spend the day with the group during their tour to our part of the world. Reene kindly wrote this report of the tour. "After a bright and early start we arrived at Sutton Cheney to do the “Ashby Trip”, a short canal cruise with a Ploughman’s lunch aboard the “Bosworth Lady”. Then onward to the Rendezvous Hotel at Skipton which stands on the Leeds Liverpool canal – the narrow boats tied up right outside whilst their crew opened the nearby swing bridge. Next day was spent in York with a walking tour of part of the City to start and then we went our various ways, with perhaps a guided tour of the Minster, a look at The Shambles, the shopping centre or the open top bus. On the Tuesday we went on the Settle-Carlisle railway on a scheduled diesel train as far as Appleby. Unfortunately the torrential rain hid the scenery of the Yorkshire Dales and the Cumbrian Fells but the stations and their history were interesting. The rain had stopped by the time we reached Hawes, our lunch stop. We then continued to Kettlewell to their Scarecrow Festival. The village was grouped around the Kettlewell Beck and the Scarecrows were spread far and wide and we came across a cricket match, a teddy bears’ picnic, a bride with her bridesmaids and a Maypole with dancers. The vicar was in the church porch and many of the biblical characters were portrayed inside – Joseph the carpenter “needed joiners”. The church itself was very interesting with impressive windows in memory of brothers who had been killed in WW II. On Wednesday morning we went to Skipton, as it was Market Day. The Canal runs just behind the High Street - a very pleasant stroll. There was also the Castle, the Parish Church and the Town Hall with its Museum and Flea Market to explore. In the afternoon we visited Harrogate and the lovely Valley Gardens, the Royal Pump Room Museum and ended up at Betty’s or one of the many tea rooms in the town. First thing Thursday morning we set off for Castle Howard in a bouncy little coach from a local firm as it was our driver’s day off from driving. We viewed the house with its Great hall and magnificent Dome, the Chapel, and an exhibition of the sets for a film “Brideshead Revisited “ which is due to be released later this year. We saw the Atlas Fountain from the windows of the house but the rain ruled out a visit to the garden. After lunch we went on to Eden Camp at Malton – built originally in 1942 as a Prisoner of War Camp. There were displays of various aspects of WWII and a lively Puppet Music Hall with songs by George Formby, Vera Lynn and other stars of the 40’s that offered a welcome haven from the incessant rain. Next morning dawned bright and clear and we left for the village of Haworth accompanied by Shauna, a Director of Simply Groups, the company that arranged the holiday. In the Brontë Parsonage Museum the rooms are furnishe d as they were in the mid 1800’s and others were devoted to displays of the Brontës’ history, their personal possessions and letters. We visited the Church and the village, reminiscent of the Hovis ad. and admired the beautiful views over the Pennine Hills from the tea rooms. Our departure was delayed by a foray into “The Brontë Weaving Shed” (Edinburgh Woollen Mills) to take advantage of their sale! In the afternoon we went to Harewood House and wandered round the State Rooms with their Chippendale furniture, Adam ceilings and interiors. We ventured below stairs to see the kitchen and servants’ quarters with their interesting exhibitions of life there in Victorian times. Then on to the Terrace, designed by Sir Charles Barry in the mid 1800s, to enjoy tea and cake in the glorious sunshine and watch the Red Kites gliding over the Parkland. Saturday and time to return home but not before a visit to Gainsborough Hall in Lincolnshire, a Medieval Manor House, for lunch. This house was very impressive with a Great Hall bedecked with flags and a vast kitchen with two fireplaces and a Tower which looked out over the town. We had lunch in the Upper Chamber, a very good ploughman’s with home made apple pie to follow, and then boarded the coach for the last time. Thanks to Ron our driver who also acted as our guide, and Renee who arranged our itinerary and looked after us all it was a very enjoyable week." JIM'S PROBUS TOU TOGLORIOUS YORKSHIRE 2008I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for and congratulate you on the excellent trip to York. We have had nothing but compliments from all the parrticipants as you will see from the comments on the feedback forms . I would like to give Ron, our coach driver, a particular mention. He was brilliant throughout - informative, helpful, patient and I felt that nothing was too much trouble for him. We are now all looking forward to travelling with Simply Groups again next year Pat & Jim thank you. VINCENT'S VISIT TO YORK & YORK RACES 2008Just to let you know everyone had glowing praise for the weekend, which all went smoothly and to plan.

Lee from Protours was equally impressive, especially for a scouser.
JOY & BEN'S EASTERN DELIGHTThank you very much indeed for organising such a delightful holiday. Please thank everyone concerned for all their hard work. All members re ceived full details in advance about their holiday and were more than satisfied. We had the same coach, driver and courier throughout our stay. The coach was comfortable and cleaned every day and the driver was courteous to us and other road users. He was always ready to assist in every way. Our guide and courier, Elizabeth, was excellent. Her knowledge of everything was incredible – not a guide book, notes or anything in sight!! She was always ready to assist and nothing was too much trouble. Both hotels – Mercure and Helios – were good. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food good and plentiful. The Mercure, because of its central location was obviously a favourite for the business people. Helios, being in the country and known for its spa water surroundings, was a firm favourite amongst the holiday makers of all nationalities. The holiday itinerary was absolutely perfect. Many members of our group have commented on this holiday being one of the best they have ever had. Everyone’s complaint was ' that it was over too quickly!' SHIRLEY'S TOUR TO LIV ERPOOL & MERSEYSIDE 2008Firstly can I just say what excellent 'individual' travel packs you sent me for each and every person prior to the tour. I really do think these are superb and all of the group were very impressed. We had great weekend in Liverpool - action packed but it was great! Went to the Cavern twice and had a photo taken on the stage as well as meeting with an 'old rocker' from The Undertakers 60s group. Really enjoyed it and Ron our driver joined in as well and looked after us very well. Group had such good time, hotel was fine, rooms a bit dusty but main rooms lovely. It was in a good location but Liverpool doesn’t sleep ! Our magical mystery tour guide actually worked in the cavern - he was really funny and interesting. GREAT TRIP! Thanks very much Shirley TONI'S U3A IN THE LAKE DISTRICT 2008 I am absolutely delighted to tell you that everything went well on the above trip. I loved the Hotel which exceeded my expectations as from the documentation it didn't look too great. It certainly was delightful! The food was mediocre - but I do understand that it is under new management and the waitress staff were trainees most of the time. We certainly DID NOT starve!! Our driver - Harry Bunney - was SUPERB in every way. He is the most caring, safe driver I have ever travelled with - and we all agreed we would be VERY HAPPY to travel with him any time, anywhere!! Nothing was too much for him and he was extremely kind and helpful to our member who has a mobile scooter. The itinerary too was very good and everyone agreed with the way things were planned. Toni Waxman ENID & GROUP IN LUXEMBOURG Thank you Shauna and Simply Groups for a truly delightful and memorable holiday. Please also convey our deepest thanks to Andrea, the coach driver and Elizabeth who were quite excellent. The information we received from Shauna prior to this trip was very impressive, right down to the smallest detail. This picture (right) was taken in Austria by Shirley Ward of some of her group on top of the world in Austria. The group had a wonderful time in the scenic Tyrolean Alps. They loved the hotel, the scenery and all the visits but we have yet to hear is Tony wore 'lederhosen'!!

HEATHER'S TOUR TO AUSTRIA Heather took the image by a waterfall on her recent tour , where the group had a fantastic time and had some excellent excursions to some of the most scenic regions. ANGIE & THE TROOPS IN NORTHUMBERLAND The photo with Mills Coaches was taken by Angie at the back of the hotel with some o f her group when they visited the north east earlier this year. Angie has been a client and good friend for many years and the group had some lovely weather for their tour which was a huge success visiting castles and gardens in Northumberland and Newcastle "As a group organiser it is very satisfying to have such splendid back up from a tour company down to every detail, including being wonderfully helpful with an unfortunate insurance claim - full marks to Shauna, Simon and the team at Simply Groups" Danny Linford ARP/050
HERBERT & UNISON RETIRED MEMBERS IN LUXEMBOURG "First of all many thanks for putting together such a very enjoyable few days in Luxembourg. We all had a wonderful time and no disappointment. A special thank you for the 'canny' driver Laurie. He was loved by each of my members. He was supreme. The hotel was perfect, welcoming, friendly. In other words faultless."
SUE, TOWNSWOMEN'S GUILD "I have spoken to many of the ladies & gentlemen that were on this short break and they all appear to have thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The planning and visits arranged must have taken a great deal of your time, for which I personally thank you all for making it in my opinion the best yet."
JEAN 'S 'BOOKWORMS' "On behalf of our group I would like to thank everyone at Simply Groups who helped in the organization of our trip to Luxembourg."
FRED FROM THE POSTAL SERVICE "This is just to say thanks for the excelelnt trip. I have had numerous phone calls saying what a good trip it was; well organized and put together. The guide was excellent in providing information, answering questions and looking after them (it looks like I am not needed any more!) We look forward to Italy next year."
JAMES & PERSIS, TWINNING ASSOCIATION "The general opinion of those people who traveled was that it was the best trip ever and I have to agree with them! Your suggestion of trips en-route, the Han Grotto and the river Moselle cruise were very popular choices, particularly the grotto. Finally rounding the whole trip off by spendingt the last night at the Casino Hotel was the icing on the cake, it certainly lived up to our expectations. Once again thanks for your help and the efficiency of your arrangements and prompt responses to all our queries."
ANNE P ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION" As you will see from the report forms we all had a terrific time and were pleased with the coach and driver, the outings and especially the meals out. I thank you all for the friendly phone cals before we went, the programme of events & travel arrangements that went smoothly from pick up to final drop off. Alan's visit to the Garden of EnglandAs featured in the Group Travel Organiser Magazine Alan from the Milton Keynes National Trust Association had a wonderful tour and we quote from the article; "A very full 4 day break in Kent & Sussex was enjoyed by 46 members of the Milton Keynes National Trust Association recently. Group travel organiser Alan Prockter arranged the trip in conjunction with Simply Groups, the Yorkshire based tour operator. "My wife and I once lived in Sussex and so we knew Kent well enough to be sure that our members would love it" says Alan. " I told the staff at Simply Groups where we would like to visit and they arranged everything from coach travel to full board accommodation at the very comfortable Ashford International Hotel in Ashford, Simply Groups were very good to deal with" Over the four days, the group enjoyed several excursions - also arranged by Simply Groups - to places such as Canterbury and historic castles such as Walmer Castle in Kent and both Scotney Castle and Bodiam Castle in Sussex. Batemans in Sussex - the former home of Rudyard Kipling and a National Trust Property also provided an interesting day out for the group. "The real highlight of the break was visiting Sissinghurst Gardens, which is located in Sussex and owned by the National Trust. The grounds looked beautiful and the whole group agreed that it was the best excursion of the whole trip" concludes Alan.
