ITINERARY Day 1 Having travelled from the UK, and on  boarding, you will receive a welcome cocktail and the crew will be presented to you. Dinner on board followed by an included guided tour of Vienna by night . The ship departs at around midnight for Melk. Day 2 You will arrive in Melk early in the morning and after breakfast we start with an included excursion to the Abbaye of Melk. You will return for lunch as your cruise departs towards Dürnstein, through the beautiful Wachau region where the river is lined with pretty villages and gothic ruins. The mild climate is very suitable for the vineyards and apricot orchards that you will see during the journey. You will arrive early afternoon in Durnstein, which will be visited with your hostess. Return on board mid afternoon and continue your cruise to Bratislava.
Day 3 After breakfast we include a guided tour of Slovakia's capital city, Bratislava, after which we return for lunch on board as your cruise continues towards Kalocsa in Hungary. We cruise for the afternoon and dinner is on bo ard. Day 4 After breakfast we include an excursion to the Hungrian Plains (Puzsta), which includes a traditional horse show, unique to Hungary. We return for lunch and cruise towards Budapest, the “Pearl of the Danube” . Dinner on board. Day 5 After breakfast we start today with an included guided city tour of Budapest by coach, which includes entrances to the Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church. The afternoon is free for you to explore the sights at your own pace. You might want to visit a Spa in the city centre, an ideal place to relax in the thermal waters and unwind (payable locally). After dinner on board, the evening is free or you may wish to go to an evening folklore show (payable locally). Day 6 Early this morning we cruise towards Esztergom where you have some free time to visit the town and its famous Cathedral before your cruise departs for Austria later this morning. Lunch is on board and you can sit  back and relax as you cruise towards Vienna and enjoy the Gala diner and evening entertainments. Day 7 On arrival in Vienna early this morning and after breakfast there is an included guided visit of Vienna and the Schönbrunn Palace. After lunch on board, the afternoon is free or you could choose an optional guided tour of Hofburg Palace (payable on board). You will return for dinner after which there is the possibility of attending a concert of “Vienna music” (depending on avaibility - extra cost).
