ITINERARYDay 1 Travel to Amsterdam to join either the M.V. Virginia or the M.V. Prinses Christina.
Day 2
4 Day Cruise - After a hearty Dutch breakfast your cruise starts as we leave Amsterdam and head north to the famous coastal town of Enkhuizen, which has one of the largest marinas in Holland. Once here you may choose to visit the The Open Air Museum, which is a lively museum village that provides an image of life and work around the Zuiderzee some hundred years ago. The ‘village’ consists of 130 buildings, which come from 42 different Zuiderzee locations. The buildings have been grouped in a number of neighbourhoods. A number of locations along the Zuiderzee and Waddenzee were modelled for the map and design of these neighbourhoods, including streets, alleyways, gardens and canals.  5 Day Cruise - The morning is free to explore the historic city of Amsterdam before lunch on board after which you depart for Hoorn, where you have time to explore. The beauty of this ancient town is difficult to capture in words. The ships from Hoorn that roamed the seven seas, traded with unknown tribes along faraway coasts, from the Cape of Good Hope to Cape Horn. Day 3 4 Day Cruise - Departing Enkhuizen we cruise back towards Amsterdam. On arrival in Amsterdam this afternoon, you can explore for yourself the famous Singel canal and its flower market, the famous Dam Palace or the shopping street (Kalver Straat), visit Anne Frank's house or just soak in the atmosphere of the city in one of the many street cafes that line the squares and streets. This evening you will enjoy an included three-course meal onboard the vessel - a great way to end a memorable day. A pre-bookable candlelight cruise of the canals of Amsterdam is an option this evening, which will include wine and cheese onboard. 5 Day Cruise - Depart for the traditional Dutch village of Volendam. This small town on the Ijsselmeer with wooden houses painted green and white, still retains it's original fishing village atmosphere and occasionally you can see people in traditional dress. You will have several hours at your leisure here before we depart by coach for Zaanse Schans, a living open air museum where you can see first hand, the traditional cheese making process as well as visit an authentic clog makers. You might also choose to wander through this working village and see the windmills that line the polder, or visit one of the souvenir shops, where you can purchase some of the local produce and craftwork. Day 4 4 Day Cruise - After breakfast it is time to dis embark as we travel by coach to the famous Keukenhof Gardens for your included visit. Here you can admire the exuberantly coloured flowers and delightful coloured landscaped gardens. This spectacular open-air flower exhibition serves as a permanent showcase for the bulb and flower industry, offering a wide range of attractions guaranteed to excite and delight - a treat for gardeners and non-gardeners alike! But Keukenhof offers more than just flowers and throughout the park you'll find exhibitions by Dutch artists, a variety of restaurants and sunny terraces, just perfect for relaxing during the course of the day. We will depart here later in the day and re-trace our steps towards Calais for your return crossing to the UK. 5 Day Cruise - Today we include a visit to the stunning Keukenhof Gardens. A packed lunch will be provided for you today as you will not be on the vessel for your midday meal. You will re-board the vessel in Rotterdam and you can either choose to eat onboard tonight or as a special finale to this tour, we can book at an additional cost, a typical Dutch Pancake dinner where you can eat as many sweet and savoury pancakes as you want, whilst you cruise Rotterdam harbour (minimum 40 persons required).
 Day 5 - Disembark after breakfast. We stop en route home in the pretty border town of Sluis for lunch (not included).Time permitting we can include a stop at Kasteel St Flora en route home to purchase reduced priced wines, beers & tobacco before continuing onto the port for your evening crossing back to the UK and onto your original departure points.
