Egypt and Jordan have been a melting pot of all civilizations and you will be astonished by the huge vestiges. As for the Red Sea, what can we add concerning this marvel? This cruise will enable you to discover the treasures that have made explorers and writers dream for years: the Nile Valley Pharaonic monuments. Petra in Jordan, with its beauty and dimensions is now one of the ‘Seven New Wonders of the World’. During this cruise, you will take part in a wonderful voyage through the ages.
ITINERARY DAY 1 Check in at Safaga late this afternoon after which you will receive a presentation of the crew followed by a welcome cocktail in the lounge and dinner aboard. DAY 2 After breakfast this morning will be dedicated to the cruise presentation and the welcome of the last passengers. Lunch is on board followed by an included excursion to Hurghada. This will include a semi submersible boat experience, allowing you to admire the wonderful and famous Red Sea depths before returning this afternoon. Dinner is included before departing overnight to Sharm el-Sheikh. DAY 3 Arriving this morning in Sharm el-Sheikh, which is a modern and world renowned seaside resor. You have 2 choices of what to do today, either discover Saint Catherine Monastery, one of the Sinai’s gems and a UNESCO World Heritage site or enjoy a more relaxing day at the beach. The first included excursion option will start early as you visit this important place of Christianity and includes lunch. The visit will start with the Transfiguration Church of the 6th century and continue with the holiest place of the Monastery: the Burning Bush Chapel. You will also see Moses’ ossuary and well, whose water is said to bring happiness in cohabitation! A buffet lunch will be followed by the journey back to Sharm el-Sheikh late afternoon. Or You can enjoy a day of relaxation at the beach, including return transfers. After your buffet lunch, you will travel on a glass bottom boat which will allow you to admire the Red Sea marvels. There is an Egyptian dinner and party on board (don’t forget your Egyptian outfit!) after which the ship will depart from Sharm el-Sheikh at midnight and sail to Jordan. DAY 4 You will have breakfast whilst cruising as you enjoy the scenery of the Peninsula of Sinai, which was rich in copper, gold and turquoise at the time of Pharaohs. You will arrive at midday in Aqaba where you will take lunch. This afternoon, the optional excursion is to one of the most famous locations in Jordan, the desert of Wadi Rum. This will include a Jeep drive where you will discover the wonderful changing colours of this desert, once depicted in the movie Lawrence of Arabia. The Bedouins are known to be hospitable and will serve you tea and sweet delights in their tent. You will be back onboard by the evening for dinner. DAY 5 Breakfast on board, before your included day trip to Petra. Petra is the highlight of Jordan and was built by the Nabatian people 2000 years ago, strategically situated between the silk and spice roads. To enter the city, you will drive on the “siq”: a narrow 1 km gorge surrounded by cliffs, and which ends up on Al Khazneh, the “Treasure. You will also discover the Nabatian theatre built 2000 years ago. Your lunch is included at a restaurant after which you will return to the ship, where the Captain will have the pleasure to formally open the gala dinner. The ship will depart during the night and sail to Safaga. DAY 6 Enjoy a relaxing day of cruising. You can make the most of the sun deck and take a look at the Peninsula of Sinai with its wonderful colours, which at dusk becomes copper and reddish, arriving at Safaga in the evening. On board, you can sit back and enjoy the 1001 Nights Evening, the belly dancing and traditional music. DAY 7 After an early breakfast, you travel by bus to Ancient Thebes, capital of the Pharaohs, through the desert scenery, mountains and fertile valleys, for a one-day included excursion to Luxor and the Valley of Kings. This is one of the highlights of Ancient Egypt and you will first see three of the famous tombs where the Pharaohs waited for immortality. You will then visit the Temple of Hatshepsout, dedicated to the only woman Pharaoh and this piece of art looks like was built by nature. Further on, you will admire the Colossuses of Memnon and sit on the vestiges of a temple dedicated to Amenophis III. After your lunch in a local restaurant, you will visit the Temples of Karnack, dedicated to the God Amon, it is an important place of worship & its beauty will amaze you. Before reaching the ship, you will have a photo opportunity at teh Temple of Luxor. Dinner will be served on board as the ship departs for Sharm el-Sheikh. DAY 8 Depending on flight schedules, you will disembark after your breakfast buffet and be transferred to Hurghada airport for your return flight to the UK.
