The city of COLOGNE offers six Christmas markets in total. Among them are four large markets - the Cologne Cathedral, the Alter Markt, the Neumarkt and the Rudolfplatz. Every year these four markets attract almost 2 million visitors. The market at the Cologne Cathedral is the most impressive due to the backdrop of the imposing Cathedral. The Christmas market on the Alter Markt takes place in front of the city hall. It has an especially idyllic atmosphere because of its half-timbered stalls. Cologne's oldest Christmas market is the market on the Neumarkt, in the shopping area against the backdrop of the Church St. Aposteln. There is also plenty of entertainment on offer as Christmas approaches: a variety of Christmas concerts, Nativity scene displays and a huge temporary ice rink on Heumarkt.

During the Christmas season KOBLENZ is well worth a visit! The traditional Koblenz Christmas Market is one of the largest Christmas Markets in Rhineland Palatinate. More than one hundred wooden stands will be located in the historic district of Koblenz. On offer will be an extensive range of arts and crafts as well as Christmas decorations and a huge selection of gift articles for the holiday table. The snack booths, spicy mulled wine and sweet-smelling Christmas cakes will provide creature comforts. The Christmas market in RUDESHEIM AM RHEIN brings a distinctly festive feel to the romantic old quarter and its popular Drosselgasse lane, as 120 stalls representing 12 countries gather to present Christmas customs and traditions from around the world. Europe's biggest Nativity scene with life-size figures can be admired on the market square.
