The first settlement was established around 1230 after which the city had numerous rulers before the epoch of Charles 1V when Prague became the capital of the Bohemian & Holy Roman Empires. The stunning St. Vitus, St. Wenceslas and St. Adalbert Cathedrals were commissioned and built and the first European University was established. Up until the second world war, Prague was one of the top 5 wealthiest countries in the world. The Soviet take over saw communism rule until 1989 when the ‘Velvet Revolution’ took place. To this day Prague remains one of the worlds most beautiful cities in Europe. PROVISIONAL ITINERARYDay 1. Depart from the airport and travel you will be met at the airport by a representative and travel by coach to the Hotel. Day 2. After breakfast you will be met by a city guide who will give you a half day walking tour of the city. We can also recommend a visit to the ‘Municipal House’, which is one of the most precious treasures of "Art Nouveau" style in the world, containing rich decoration inside and out (Mucha, Myslbek, Saloun, Svabinsky, Ales, Zenisek), and housing the well known Smetana concert hall. Day 3. After breakfast a coach will meet you at the hotel and transport you to Sternberk Castle (see picture).
