Day 1 Departing your pick up point this morning we stop en route at Anglesey Abbey, Garden & Lode Mill (NT) for lunch (payable locally) before continuing onto Norwich and your hotel. Arriving during the afternoon you will have some free time to visit Norwich at your leisure before dinner. There may be the possibilty of att ending Evensong at the Cathedral. Day 2 - Included day excursion starting in the historic town of Kings Lynn where a guided tour is included. You will also visit the Old Gaol House where your personal stereo guide takes you through King's Lynn's 1930s police station and into the old cells beyond, where smugglers caught by the revenue men of the Custom House would be thrown. You can meet a drunken teddy boy locked up for the night, and hear the true stories of the town's highwaymen, murderers and robbers. You can hear the sounds and smell the smells of prison life two centuries ago, and see how it feels to be locked up in a dank cell or trapped in the stocks in the town's market square. Your guide describes how 'witches' were identified and punished, and you can hear the crowds shout as one poor woman is captured to be taken to her fate! Enjoy an atmospheric visit with the sounds and smells of prison life two centuries ago at King's Lynn's Old Gaol House. There will be free time afterwards for a snack / some refreshment before we continue onto Sandringham House, Museum & Gardens, the Royal Family's Country retreat (entrance included) where you will have a couple of hours at your leisure. We finish the day with an afternoon cream tea with homemade scones and tea / coffee at Bircham Windmill which stands in the heart of Norfolk's undulating fields & looks as it did over 100 years ago. Very few windmills remain in Norfolk and Bircham mill is considered to be one of the best that is in working order. The visiting public may climb to the very top (extra cost) to the fan deck, and from there admire the view. You return to the hotel in time to freshen up before dinner. Day 3 - We start today by travelling to Wroxham where we board a river cruiser for your included Broads Tours with full commentary which takes you on a relaxing 90 minute trip through the Norfolk Broads where you can observe the great variety of waterborne wildlife, see interesting houses along the water's edge and marvel at the man-made Broads. We then continue Blickling Hall, Garden & Park (NT) where you will have time to explore at your leisure before arriving at our last included visit of the day to Felbrigg Hall (NT). We return to the hotel later inthe day where dinner is again included.
