Insurance SAMPLE ITINERARYDay 1 Departing your local pick up points we travel north west towards Wales. We can arrange for a stop en-route at a place of interest and for some lunch depending on your point of departure.
Day 2 - A hearty welsh breakfast starts the day and this morning you will have a couple of hours at your leisure in Llandudno. You may choose to take a ride on the Great Orme Tramway (payable locally) which has been delighting visitors since it opened on July 31st 1902. An engineering marvel of its age, it's still the only cable-hauled tramway still operating on British public roads and one of only three surviving in the world. At the Halfway Station exhibition, discover the fascinating funicular tramway - then enjoy the spectacular ride to the top. Re-live the experience of travel more than 100 years ago in the original tramcars - each named after a Saint. Due to the Victorian design of The Great Orme Tramway, there are certain constraints for visitors with disabilities. There is also plenty to see & do in Llandudno itself and this Victori an seaside town offers excellent shopping facilities which are within easy reach on foot from the hotel. We then head into the heart of Snowdonia and a brief visit to Betws-y-Coed, North Wales' most popular inland resort. It is where the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west, the Llugwy, the Lledr and the Machno. Much of the town was built in Victorian times and it is the principal village of the Snowdonia National Park. It has a wonderful setting surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountain country is only part of the answer. The beauty of the area is enhanced by cascading waterfalls, hill-top lakes, river pools and ancient bridges. Ever since the Victorian artists flocked to the area and formed the first artist colony it has been a mecca for those that appreciate its unique natural beauty. We then continue onto Portmeirion (entrance included) where you might be forgiven for thinking you were in southen Italy and not North Wales ! This fascinating fantasy village built by Sir Clugh Williams-Ellis betwee 1925 - 1972 is set in sub-tropical gardens and woodlands and its beauty almost defies description. We return to the hotel later this afternoon.
Day 3 After your full cooked breakfast we start the day by travelling to Anglesey where we visit the town with the longest name lanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch where you will visit the large James Pringle Weavers shop located next to the old station house in the village and which is now the main tourist attraction and stopping point for visitors. Inside the James Pringle Weavers Visitor Centre a signpost points  towards the far-away places that are home to the millions of visitors who have made the village an essential part of their Welsh holiday itinerary. The Centre's spacious shops are stocked with a superb range of knitware and clothing at value-for-money prices together with a selection of Welsh crafts and gifts. Two 15" gauge Atlantic Class steam locomotives - the Railway Queen and Michael (built here in Wales more than 65 years ago) lurk amongst the merchandise. For many visitors one of the station's record-breaking-size platform tickets is at the top of their shopping list, but don't forget to get your passport or postcard marked with the famous Llanfairpwllgwyngyll stamp! Our last visit today is the historic town of Caernarfon where you may choose to visit Caernarfon Castle (payable locally). King Edward intended this castle to be a royal residence and seat of government for north Wales. The castle's symbolic status was emphasized when Edward made sure that his son, the first English Prince of Wales, was born here in 1284. In 1969, the castle gained worldwide fame as the setting for the investiture of HRH Prince Charles as Prince of Wales. There will be free time for you to explore at your leisure here before we return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 4 - The last breakfast and a fond farewell to friends both old & new as we depart Llandudno for the journey homeward, making further comfort stops where required.
