TYPES OF GROUPS Simply Groups provide tours for virtually every conceivable type of group. Our largest clientele are retired groups but we also work with large company ‘sports & social clubs’ as well as special interest groups. We have outlined some (not all) of those groups with whom we regularly work, but if you do not fall into any of these categories please do not hesitate to contact us. We are confident that with our 25 years of experience, we will be able to assist you with any tour package that you might be considering.
SMALL GROUPS One of the major concerns many of our group organisers have, is not reaching the required number to make their trip viable. All quotations are based initially on a minimum number of passengers and we work very closely with our group organisers to assist in promoting their tour so that the minimum numbers are achieved. However, if it becomes evident that minimum numbers will not be reached, we will endeavour to source a similar group to make up your numbers. We have many group organisers who have asked us to keep them informed of any groups who find themselves in this situation, as they will often promote your tour to their members. If we are successful in finding a similar group, we always put the group organisers in touch so that they can get to know each other before the tour departs. U3A There has been a marked growth in the number of University of the 3rd Age groups over the past few years. Simply Groups provide tours for many U3A's, which we tailor make to suit each association's requirements. These tours can range from a short break within the UK or to a 3 centre tour of South America as well as everything and anything in between. The content of the itineraries we provide is a key component in ensuring the success of our U3A tours. We always provide detailed information about the proposed destination in order for the group organiser and committee to make an informed decision about any holiday. Once the tour is confirmed, we liaise regularly with the organiser to fine tune each days activities which in turn guarantees a well structured and well timed itinerary that operates smoothly. RETIRED GROUPS Including Probus Clubs, ARA’s (Active Retirement Associations), HEYDAY & Retired Activity Centres. We work with many retired groups, associations and clubs throughout the UK. Each and every tour is unique and put together after careful consideration of the group's requirements. Being retired organisations this can mean making sure that the intended destination or hotel can cater for special needs including disabilities, sometimes wheelchair bound passengers or a large number of single rooms. It is also important for us to ensure that those venues/excursions chosen to visit each day can also cater for the special needs of the whole group. We source and offer hotels and restaurants that provide meals for those who require a special diet (ie , coeliacs, diabetic, religious groups etc). It is this detailed planning that ensures the smooth operation of every one of our tours. TOWNSWOMEN'S GUILD & WOMEN'S INSTITUTE’S Each year Simply Groups operates the Townswomens Guild annual tour. With a tour of this type, where it is catering for a national association and bookings may come in from John O'Groats to Lands End we can offer a comprehensive selection of departure points all over the UK, whether for 150 or for 40. As a result of the success of these annual tours many individual guilds organise their own holiday with us to destinations throughout the UK & Europe. We have also operated similar tours for Women’s Institutes, with the Yorkshire Dales being a firm favourite because of the Calendar Girls film. These packages, for both organisations, can include a donation to a charity of their choice and the visits and excursions we provide are in keeping with the interests of the group. NATIONAL TRUST AND ENGLISH HERITAGE We are fortunate that in the United Kingdom we have many historic buildings, places of interest, towns & artefacts that are under the protection of, or have been saved by the National Trust and English Heritage organisations. We have been providing tours for NT & English Heritage groups to every region in the UK as well as abroad and our tailor made itineraries enable their members and non members, to visit many unique and historic places of interest. HORTICULTURE & GARDENING Throughout the UK and Europe there are literally thousands of gardens, castles, protected landscapes, botanical gardens, herb gardens & arboretrums, the list is nearly endless. Each one is different and offers you the chance to see all manner of plants, shrubs, flowers, herbs, trees and all things horticultural. We have been arranging short breaks, weekends and longer tours for many years to destinations throughout Europe. Each tour is tailor made to ensure that the visits and excursions are suited to the requirements of the group. DANCE, WINE & ART These are just three types of specialist interest groups for whom we regularly tailor make tours. Many of our dance group clients ask us to ensure that their hotel has a sprung dance floor, a good sound and P.A. system and sufficient dance floor space to cater for their group. Our wine groups travel all over Europe and we are fortunate that an aquaintance of ours is an internationally renowned wine expert and he advises us on the best cellars and vineyards to visit throughout Europe. Those with an interest in art can find something of interest in virtually every city in Europe. In recent times one of our most popular art tours has been to Barcelona with Holland and France coming a close second and third. We have arranged guided city tours and behind the scenes tours of some galleries as well as talks from experts in selected locations.
SPORTS & SOCIAL CLUBS Simply Groups provide tours for some of the largest company’s sports & social clubs in the UK. We tailor make tours for current employees of all age groups as well as retired employees associations. For the younger market we can offer popular tours like the Belgian Beer Festival, Christmas Markets, Dublin and Amsterdam. We also help with the promotion of these tours by emailing literature and images that can be uploaded onto internal intranet systems. For the more discerning members of the clubs and associations, the tours we have operated have been tailor made to European cities, lakes & mountains, cruises and general interest tours throughout Europe & Worldwide. We have also provided tours to many destinations for teams, including rugby, football, hockey and bowls, to name but a few SCHOOLS/COLLEGES & UNIVERSITIES Most schools colleges and universities offer study based tours for a variety of subjects during the course of each Academic year. We work with teachers and lecturers to provide tours that meet with the course work requirements, which can be to destinations throughout the UK & Europe. Some of these can require us to arrange visits to factories or specific course orientated businesses as well as places of interest which are relevant to the subject matter being studied.
