Day 1 - Furzelea (NGS) is a country garden planted for scent and colour within 2/3 of an acre. Admire the sumptuous mixed borders overflowing with bulbs, perennial plants and old fashioned roses. There are archways clad in climbers, roses and clematis while chamomile steps lead to a lily pond, the black and white garden and a courtyard with tropical and tender plants. Green Island Gardens are private gardens which have been professionally designed by its owner Fiona Edmond. This 20 acre site is laid out as a series of structured gardens displaying a huge range of unusual trees, shrubs, perennials and bulbs, described by many as a ‘plantsman’s paradise'.

Day 2 - Moat House (NGS) is set in a 2 acre historic and partially moated site where this tranquil mature garden has developed over 20 years. Bordered by mature trees, the garden has rose and clematis arbours, a sunken garden, a small arboretum and an herbaceous section bordered by box hedging. Henstead Exotic Garden (NGS) has100 palms, 200 bamboos and banana plants, all grown in the ground and un-fleeced over winter. In addition it has 3 ponds, 2 streams, 60 tons of rock, a Thai style pavilion on stilts and a gingerbread style summerhouse. The garden has recently expanded to include a composting toilet with stained glass windows and ancient old woodland which leads to a ruined Victorian walled garden.

Day 3 - Helmingham Hall Gardens with its beautiful park home to a herd of red deer has a spectacular moated hall as well as their famous gardens. A classic parterre flanked by hybrid musk roses lies before a stunning walled kitchen garden with exquisite herbaceous borders and beds of vegetables, interspersed by tunnels of sweat peas, runner beans and gourds. There is also a herb and knot garden along with a rose garden of unsurpassable beauty. Polstead Mill (NGS) has formal and informal areas, a wild flower meadow and a large kitchen garden. The river Box trickles through the garden where there is a mill pond, which gives opportunity for damp gardening, while much of the rest of the garden is arid and is planted to minimise the need for watering.
